About NIFG

North Idaho Family Group, Inc. Board of Directors 2015 – 2016

The North Idaho Family Group, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization in the State of Idaho. As a backbone organization, NIFG promotes healthy families and lifelong learning in the communities of North Idaho by providing vehicles for communication, networking, and collaboration among nonprofits and service providers in Region 1.

Candace Godwin, President

Owner of Godwin Marketing Communications, and has more than 20 years experience in the strategic development and implementation of integrated marketing and communication plans for private and non-profit organizations, higher education and health care entities. She is a member of the Coeur d’Alene Rotary Club, is a board member of the North Idaho Family Group, and serves on the Marketing & Gift Planning Committee of the Inland Northwest Community Foundation.

Shelly Zollman, Vice President

Shelly Zollman became the Director of the North Idaho Family Group in 2013. Over the years she has been involved with many community organizations both in a professional and personal capacity. She was a Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce Commodore for 12 years, a member of the marketing committee for St. Vincent de Paul, an Ironman Coeur d’Alene Volunteer, and is active in fundraising for Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy where her children attend.

She is an owner of ZolMedia, a web design company, with her husband, Kevin, and has donated her time to dozens of area nonprofits with their website & marketing including St. Vincent de Paul, Lake City Playhouse, the Dirne Clinic (now Heritage Health), Cancer & Community Charities, the North Idaho Violence Prevention Center, and others.

She and her family relocated from the Seattle area to North Idaho in 2000. Shelly attended the University of Washington.

Carrie Cook, Secretary/Treasurer

Carrie Cook joined the North Idaho Family Group in 2014. Carrie currently works at Peak1 Administration as Account Manager where she acts as a third party administrator for company benefits. A single mom with three children in the Coeur d’Alene School District, she has lived in the area for 16 years. Carrie is active in Coeur d’Alene Rotary, the SD271 Long Range Planning Committee and is presently treasurer of the Canfield Middle School PTA. She has also served as committee chair of the Wine, Women Shoes Event benefiting the Idaho Youth Ranch of Coeur d’Alene, as an Ironman Coeur d’Alene Volunteer, and Volunteer Coordinator for the Salvation Army Kroc Center. Carrie attended Texas A&M University.

James Curb, Director

James Curb joined the North Idaho Family Group in 2015. James is the Director of CDA4Kids/Club245 before and afterschool programs at Atlas, Borah, Fernan, Canfield, Lakes, Woodland and Venture High School. He is also the Homeless Liaison for CDA School District and responsible for managing the McKinney-Vento grant, the Director for the Indian Education program and managing the Johnson-O’Malley grant and the Title VII grant, the Director of the Office of Drug Policy grant, and a Facilitator for the Health GPS initiative. James worked as a school counselor for 10 years, has a BS in Organizational Development from BYU-Hawaii, a Masters Degree School Counseling from Utah State, and is a Coeur d’Alene High School Graduate.
